Urban Myth Posters

As mentioned in the previous post I'm starting the first collection of posters Urban Myth. With this poster I try to change a litle my graphic style, explore other ways and tecnics. Dont know if that was achived... I'm quite happy with the result, but it's far from good. I feel that I have to improve a lot. Rendition

This weekend I saw the film Rendition, a really good movie, visually good, but the most important thing was the story itself. So I had the ideia of doing something about it, and this way starting the Urban Myth porters collection... by the way, I've used the new logo... Enjoy!!

grey and greenish

This illustration was inspired in a kid I saw this morning. It was freezing and everyone was moving... but that kid just stand still, looking at the ground.... the light was grey and greenish. hope you like!

While Joy Division is playing

The Christmas without Santa

This is a christmas post card, It's part of a collection of 4 that I'm making for a client. He wanted something without santas, or stars and things like that...so... here it is!!! Enjoy!!

Autumn squirl

This morning was mist and foggy, it was beautiful!! I just love this days, cold and sunny with a touch of mist!! And then I saw a litle squirl...I had to do something with this image. here it is... enjoy!

Inspiration from Birmingham

Last weekend I went to Birmingham, and I have to admit that it's not a very beautiful city to visit, 60% of the buildings are in 60's style, and it looks a very grey place. But I love that greyness, I love the modernism building from the 60's, they are amazing and with loads of graphic potencial. So I was inspired to do something like that, and here ir is. In the future I'll have to take my camera and take some pictures of it!

Something...Jaws

I was seeing Jaws today on my computer, and I had to do something with this magnificent creature, so here it is. There's a old friend of mine that, for sure will love this... or maybe not, maybe he would prefer it more violent... Enjoy!!

Maybe is the lack of sleep...

Maybe it's the lack of sleep... but I'm really enjoying doing works were I explore the geometry and perspectives of the space.

Like one of my best teachers in the University once said to me: "The computer is a magnificent thing, but most of the times it's always better start with a simple drawing". That's what I did...Enjoy!!

I've had this image in my head for quite a while now. Again, Dave Mckean influencies are obvious. Enjoy!

Influence of Dave Mckean

Since my times in university, back in Portugal, I've been inspired by the textures of walls, and specially the old paint falling from them. Maybe the explanation for this is Dave Mckean, one of the most influencial nowadays artist/designer, and a special reference for me. His work is amazing!! So... that's one of the reasons why my works allways have a "old" and "darkish" background. In this case I've used a texture of a old wallpaper to make some contrast with the "paint-decomposing" parrot. Enjoy!!

Experimenting

Lately I've been experimenting with the shapes, colours and light of real things, trying to create something else, but not sure what. I dont know if it's bad or not, at least I'm having loads of fun with it. Enjoy.
